I studied Acting.
My favourite thing about is the Waldegrave Suite.
This year I’m hoping to empower students with the tools to succeed beyond university and create a more inclusive and supportive environment.
My tip for making the most out of St Mary’s is get out of your comfort zone and get involved.
My Best Simmie memory would be performing the last show of “she is to remain quiet” and spending the night celebrating with my course.
Loose dates have been set for all practical life workshops.
The plant-growing workshop is booked for Thursday 27th November, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
I’m currently booking the cooking workshop for the end of Semester 1 and involving some nutrition students in the process. If it’s successful, I plan to run more sessions in Semester 2.
This is something I’ll focus on more during RAG Week. I’d like to organise a sporting tournament that brings different sports clubs together for some fun and quirky games. The aim is to entertain students and raise money for Women’s Aid.
Some improvements have already been made before I came into office; for example, the addition of microwaves that function similarly to cookers, giving students more options for preparing meals in halls.
I’m currently researching what else needs improvement and plan to send out a student survey to gather feedback on what students feel is missing or could be improved.
I recently had a meeting with Nikhil Santos, our Catering and Bar Services Manager. We discussed new meal options to add to the rota in the refectory.
I also plan to send out a student survey to ensure the changes reflect what students want
A key part of this manifesto point is creating DSA support sessions. We held one during Wobble Week, but attendance was low due to Education and other courses being on reading week.
I’m working with Student Services to plan the next session; possibly during Refreshers Week.
Separating mental health and disability statistics has proven more complex than expected, so I’ll revisit this and explore alternative ways to meet the goal.
This week, I’ll be attending one of the third-year acting shows, Our Country’s Good, and will share content and information to help raise awareness.
Next semester, I’ll be working closely with the student who runs St Mary’s Acting Media Pages, to help promote shows and increase student engagement.
