Wellbeing

We want all our students to know that it’s okay not to be okay, and there’s lots of support available to you throughout your studies. Here’s a list of services that you can turn to when you want to talk to someone: 

You can drop into the SMSU Office any time in K11 or you can get in touch by emailing smsu@stmarys.ac.uk

Student Support Officers provide support to those living in halls of residence between 5pm and 1am. The team is based in De Marillac and they can be contacted by calling 020 8240 4360. 

The Wellbeing Team is available Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm and is based in J Building on the 2nd Floor. They can provide support, advice and counselling. You can get in touch with them by emailing wellbeing@stmarys.ac.uk or calling 020 8240 4353. 

Stop Hate UK is a charity that provides independent and confidential support and reporting options to people affected by a hate crime (24/7). They can be contacted by calling 0800 138 1625.

The LGBT+ Switchboard is a free 24/7 talking service for those who identify as LGBTQ+ which is open 10am-10pm, 7 days a week. You can get in touch with them by emailing chris@switchboard.lgbt or calling 0300 330 0630.  

Galop provide support for members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced hate crime or other forms of abuse.

TELLMAMA supports victims of anti-Muslim hate.

Community Security Trust provides support for victimes of anti-semitic incidents.

Shout UK is a free 24/7 texting service and you can get in touch with them by texting ‘SHOUT’ to 85258. 

Samaritans provide a free 24/7 talking service and you can get in touch with them by emailing jo@samaritans.org or calling 116 123. 

Call Papyrus’ HOPELINE on 0800 068 4141 for support with suicidal thoughts and feelings. This is a confidential support and practical advice service. Alternatively, you can text ‘HOPELINEUK’ to 07860 039 967 for support around suicidal thoughts and feelings. This service currently runs daily between 9am – midnight

National Bullying Helpline - Helping individuals struggling with bullying issues, providing operational and timely support to both adults and children - whether the bullying is in the home, the community, school, workplace or on-line.  Tel: 0300 323 0169 (Mon - Fri 9am-5pm)

The Havens are specialist NHS centers in London that provide a 24/7 service for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted. They can be contacted by calling 020 3299 6900.

The Revenge Porn Helpline supports individuals who have had intimate images shared online without their consent. They can be contacted by calling 0345 6000 459.

The National Stalking Helpline . They can be contacted by calling 0808 802 0300, or you can refer someone into their services here. 

The 'One-Stop Shop' is a weekly drop-in service offering free, discrete support, advice and information concerning domestic abuse, stalking and sexual violence.  They are available from 10am-12pm every Friday at Hampton Hill Citizens Advice, 94-102 High Street, Hampton Hill, TW12 1NY.
