Wellbeing

The elections period can be a stressful time for candidates, and we want to make sure that you know exactly how to put your wellbeing first!

There are a few things you can do to take care of yourself during the election period. Along with our regular wellbeing services open to all students throughout their time at St Mary’s, we’ve also made a few suggestions on how you can take care of your wellbeing throughout the elections.

Stay active

Make sure you stay active in the weeks leading up to and during voting week!

If you’re feeling a little stressed, why not go out for a walk and keep yourself busy!

Stay connected

Stay connected with your friends and families during this time and make sure you talk to them about any worries and ideas you have! You can also talk to our Deputy Returning Officer, Sarah, who’ll be able to offer you advice on wellbeing during this time.

Eat well

It’s important to take care of your diet and eat healthy! It’s important to take care of yourself!

Avoid burnout!

We understand that you’ll be doing the most you can to get votes, but it’s important to not overwork yourself. You can make a to-do list to make it easier for you to achieve smaller tasks in a more spread-out time.

Have fun!

Most importantly, have fun! Make sure you know that you’re allowed to have fun whilst running in the elections! It doesn’t have to be all work!
