Kingston Eco-Op is a social care project based at Searchlight Community Centre. Every week-day our day service runs at Searchlight from 9.30 til 3.30, offering a range of activities for our community members who have additional support needs. The community we support is diverse, including members with mental health concerns, learning disabilities, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and other health concerns. Our personalised approach puts the needs, aspirations and feelings of our members at the heart of everything we do.
You can help out by becoming a community volunteer, fundraising volunteer or get involved by taking part in our student placement programme.
Community volunteer
Volunteering at our project brings a lot of value to our work, providing more opportunities to spend more time with our community on a personal level, developing positive social interactions with members who really appreciate the care, attention, and support.
Fundraising volunteer
We always have more ideas for fun activities than our budgets allow so we are looking for a volunteer fundraiser to join our office team to help apply for funding bids.
Student placement
An interest in pursuing social care work, learning more about how our members are supported to have independent and empowered lives. This can include an in-depth look at how our policies and procedures are designed to keep everyone at the project safe from harm.
