Ruils: Independent Living

About Ruils

Ruils is a user-led charity that supports Disabled children and adults, as well as people living with long-term physical or mental health conditions. Their aim is to help people live independently, stay connected to their communities, and enjoy life to the fullest.

They provide a range of services, including information and advice, advocacy, befriending, and activities for individuals and their families.

What You'll Be Doing

As a volunteer at Ruils, you'll become part of a supportive team of staff and volunteers who work together to make a positive difference in the lives of local people.

Volunteers play a vital role in helping Ruils deliver services that are highly valued by the people they support.

Why This Is Great for Students:

  • Meet new people
  • Develop communication and interpersonal skills
  • Improve your listening, communication, and empathy skills
  • Make a positive impact in your local community

Ruils understands that students have busy schedules, so volunteering is designed to be flexible. You could volunteer for as little as one hour per week, making it easy to fit around your studies and other commitments.

They are also understanding during exam periods and can adjust your volunteering schedule, provided that clients are given advance notice.
