In 2019, the British Government reported that the persecution of Christians, in many parts of the world, was at a "near genocidal" level. 

As a Catholic University, we should remember those who are killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. For many years now, the First Sunday of November has marked the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. This University should commemorate, yearly, this very important day.

Next year, on the 3rd of November, this day will be commemorated. Alas, this year it was not commemorated in the University, but proposing this petition now gives plenty of time for arrangements to be made to commemorate this important day.
