I have noticed lately that there is a lot of smoking around campus, especially in areas like the main reception, outside the commuter lounge and in student square. This concerns me greatly as many people pass through these areas multiple times a day, and inhaling second-hand smoke when walking around campus is very unpleasant and poses health risks. It seems to be particularly bad in the main reception area which also does not present a good first impression to visitors who may be arriving to the main reception. Therefore, I would like designated smoking areas to be introduced in order to reduce the amount of smoking in the busy areas I have mentioned, or alternatively, make these areas of campus designated smoke-free areas.
